Organization / LocalBusiness, Article, Product / Service and FAQ markup; sameAs profile links; Wikidata; consistent name and phone; HTTPS and reviews.
Question-style content with direct answers, heading structure, clear “what / who / where / how” statements, author and date signals, and freshness.
For verified visitors, when available: a small live sample of how an AI assistant answers questions about you and your category — mention and citation rates, clearly labelled as a sample.
Our scoring is honest by design: a well-prepared site can score 90+, checks that don’t apply to you never count against you, and we’ll tell you when your foundation is already strong. Read the full methodology.
AEO is structuring your content so answer engines — AI assistants and AI search features — can extract and present a direct answer from it. In practice: clear questions with short answers right below them, a single topic per page, a logical heading structure, and facts like services, prices and locations stated in plain sentences.
GEO is increasing the likelihood that your brand is mentioned and cited inside AI-generated answers from tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot. It builds on AEO with entity signals (Organization markup, sameAs profile links, consistent business details across the web) and third-party trust signals such as reviews.
First make sure OpenAI’s search crawler (OAI-SearchBot) and ChatGPT-User aren’t blocked in robots.txt or by your CDN or firewall. Then publish pages that answer the exact questions people ask, with the answer in the server-rendered HTML, add Organization or LocalBusiness structured data with sameAs links, and keep your business details consistent across your site and listings. No one can guarantee citations — AI answers vary — but these steps make you eligible and easier to quote.
llms.txt is an emerging convention for giving AI systems a curated summary of your site. As of today there’s no confirmed evidence that it affects AI citations, so our score treats it as informational only. It’s harmless to add, but robots.txt access, structured data and answer-ready content matter far more.
Yes, it’s free and no email is needed to run a check — you’ll see your AI Readiness Score and top findings right away. To unlock the full itemized report, enter your email and confirm it with a 6-digit code; the report then appears on the page and a copy is emailed to you.
Each check is rated good, warning or needs fixing and weighted by impact. These roll up into sub-scores — AI Access & Crawlability, Structured Data & Entity, Answerable Content and (when live AI probes are available) AI Visibility — and a weighted overall score out of 100: 90–100 Excellent, 75–89 Strong, 50–74 Developing, below 50 Limited AI Visibility. Checks that don’t apply to your site, informational checks and checks we couldn’t complete never lower your score. A well-prepared site can score 90 or higher.
That’s a legitimate business decision, and our score doesn’t penalise it. What matters for being found in AI answers is not blocking the search and retrieval bots (such as OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Googlebot and Bingbot) and the user-triggered fetchers (ChatGPT-User, Claude-User, Perplexity-User).
